LCP Supports Louisianians with No-Cost Cancer Screening Navigation Services

Did you know Louisiana Cancer Prevention & Control Programs (LCP) offers a nurse navigation assistance program, a no-cost, statewide service that provides personalized support throughout the cancer screening and follow-up process? The LSU LCMC Health Cancer Center supports the program.

The service provides virtual, nurse‑led navigation to help individuals access no-cost cervical, colorectal, and lung cancer screenings. Our nurses work one‑on‑one with community members to help them access recommended screenings, understand the process, and connect with local resources that support timely, appropriate care.

We’ll assist individuals who:

  • Are unsure which cancer screenings they need
  • Have questions about results or recommended follow-up
  • Feel overwhelmed or uncertain about next steps
  • Need help addressing barriers such as transportation, insurance, or access to services

Referring individuals to the service helps ensure they receive continuous, personalized navigation support that enhances and complements the efforts of clinics, community healthcare workers, nonprofits, and community organizations statewide.
