American Cancer Society—Tobacco and Lung Cancer: The American Cancer Society provides information on the link between tobacco use and cancer, including the risks associated with second and third-hand smoke. Information on the benefits of quitting tobacco and links to cessation tools are also available.

American Non-smokers Rights Foundation: A leader in smokefree policies, ANR creates programs and educational material to educate the public about the health hazards of secondhand smoke and the benefits of smokefree air. It has a comprehensive resource library covering evidence-based information on all varieties of tobacco products.  It is the only national repository of state and local tobacco-related ordinances and legislation in the country.

Campaign for Tobacco Free Kids: Using strategic communications and policy change campaigns, this organization works to reduce tobacco use in the United States and around the world. Resources include tobacco data and fact sheets on numerous tobacco-related topics, including special populations.

CDC—Tobacco and Cancer: Helpful site with information on the diseases linked to tobacco use, health advice for tobacco users, and links to other valuable resources for those who wish to quit their tobacco habit.

Community Resource Guide / Well-Ahead, Louisiana Dept. of Health: This helpful search tool helps you find local Louisiana health resources ranging from screenings to tobacco cessation and healthy eating.

MD Anderson Cancer Center: Smoking and Tobacco: This respected leader in cancer treatment offers tips for tobacco cessation and printable materials on various tobacco-related topics such as educational materials to keep kids tobacco free. Also provided are quit lines and information on lung cancer screening eligibility.

National Cancer Institute—Tobacco: The National Cancer Institute offers basic information on the harms of tobacco use and resources for tobacco cessation.

The Oral Cancer Foundation: The Oral Cancer Foundation offers screening information and information regarding various types of oral cancer. These cancers are triggered by the use of tobacco and exposure to the HPV virus.

Quit With Us, LA: Quit With Us, LA offers a variety of resources for practical quit smoking resources, tips and research-based advice to help smokers and tobacco users to quit and stay quit. Their website offers tips from former smokers, reasons to quit, health benefits of quitting and access to support groups in the area.

Tobacco Control Initiative: The Tobacco Control Initiative (TCI) is a multi-disciplinary program specializing in helping tobacco users quit. TCI offers free or low-cost, evidenced tobacco treatment services to all Louisiana public hospital patients, employees and the communities they serve. Services offered to tobacco users include: behavioral counseling (individual and group), quit-line support, pharmacotherapy, and self-help material.
