ABCD-After Breast Cancer Diagnosis: ABCD’s mission is to provide free, genuinely personal help and support that eases the stress and burden of breast cancer. They provide resources on finances, survivorship, palliative care, careers, and provide one-on-one match mentoring support.

African American Breast Cancer Alliance, Inc: Promotes awareness, connections, education, resources and support for African American women, men, families, and communities affected by breast cancer.

Breastcancer.org: Breastcancer.org is a nonprofit organization that provides information on all aspects of breast health. The website also features discussion boards, blogs, chat rooms, transcript archives of online conferences and more.

The Breast Center of Acadiana: The Breast Center of Acadiana provides two support groups that meet monthly: Sisters of Hope for all breast cancer survivors that meets on the 3rd Tuesday of every month, and Pink Ribbon Divas specifically for young breast cancer patients which meets the last Wednesday of each month.

BrightPink: BrightPink’s mission is to save women’s lives from breast and ovarian cancer by empowering them to live proactively. Bright Pink helps people assess their risk, explore genetics, and they even have mobile health reminders to keep in check with your body.

Casting for Recovery: The mission of Casting for Recovery® (CfR) is to enhance the quality of life of women with breast cancer through a unique retreat program that combines breast cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing. CfR serves breast cancer survivors of all ages, in all stages of treatment and recovery, at no cost to participants.

CHRISTUS St. Patrick: Bosom Buddies is a breast cancer support group that is hosted at CHRISTUS St. Partrick Regional Cancer Center in Lake Charles. For information call (337) 491-7569 for meeting dates and location.

Coaching in Pink Shoes: Coaching in Pink Shoes in Lincoln Parish provides a support group and survivorship coaching for breast cancer survivors!

Dana Farber Cancer Institute’s Young and Strong Program: The Young and Strong Program at the Susan F. Smith Center for Women’s Cancers offers young women with breast cancer (diagnosed at age 44 or younger) a personalized blend of clinical expertise, research discoveries, support, and education within a world-class cancer center.

Driving Miss Darby Foundation: This foundation supports patients with breast cancer who are actively participating in a breast cancer clinical trial at a state-licensed medical facility and have incurred expenses related to that trial participation. Funding is available in the form of reimbursement for expenses incurred as part of participation in clinical trial research.

Ethel Precht Breast Cancer Support Group: The Ethel Precht Breast Cancer Foundation is based in Lake Charles and has a breast cancer support group that meets on the third Thursday of every month at the Lake Area Medical Center at 6 pm.

Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (FORCE): Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (FORCE) advocates for families facing hereditary breast and ovarian cancer and provides educational information, resources, and support. FORCE offers support through online message boards, a toll-free helpline, chat rooms and more.

Foundation for Women’s Cancer: The Foundation for Women’s Cancer funds research and training to provide education and increase public awareness of cancer prevention and early detection. Breast cancer information is available online and the information hotline provides doctor referrals, educational information, and resources.

Hope Scarves: Hope Scarves was created to capture the stories of courageous women and encourage others by passing along scarves and stories of hope. Each free scarf is sent along with a survivor’s story and words of encouragement.

iGo Pink The Breast Cancer Charities of America: The Breast Cancer Charities of America exists to eliminate breast cancer as a life-threatening illness. They bring together organizations representing all health and social service disciplines in the commitment to establish new and unprecedented levels of effectiveness through research, education, advocacy and support.

Little Pink Houses of Hope: Little Pink Houses of Hope provides free weeklong vacation retreats to breast cancer survivors and their families. Family and couples retreats are held in 14 different locations around the country.

Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC): Living Beyond Breast Cancer (LBBC) strives to empower women affected by breast cancer through support, education, and advocacy. LBBC provides support through the Survivors’ Helpline, their ask-the-expert series, conferences and more.

Louisiana Breast & Cervical Health Program: Provides no-cost mammograms, Pap tests and other services to Louisiana women who qualify.

Men Against Breast Cancer: Support and education for men caring for female breast cancer survivors. Their Partners in Survival workshop helps men understand the physical and emotional needs of their female partners.

Metastatic Breast Cancer Network: This organization hosts Metastatic Breast Cancer programs, including an annual conference, and provides online resources and support to educate patients and promote the search for a cure.

National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc: The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) provides breast cancer information, educational videos, diagnostic breast cancer services, and support services. Members of the online support community, MyNBCF, can participate in discussion forums, blogs, and chats.

Pink Crusade Support Group: The West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital, located in Lake Charles, offers the Pink Crusade Support Group, which meets on the second Thursday of each month. Check out their calendar to see when their next meeting is.

SHARE: Self-help for Women with Breast or Ovarian Cancer: SHARE: Self-help for Women with Breast or Ovarian Cancer aims to create and maintain a supportive network and community of women affected by breast or ovarian cancer. All services are free and include telephone support, support groups, educational programs, webinars, and advocacy activities.

Sharsheret: Your Jewish Community Facing Breast Cancer: Sharsheret is a national not-for-profit organization supporting young Jewish women and their families facing breast cancer. Our mission is to offer a community of support to women, of all Jewish backgrounds, diagnosed with breast cancer or at increased genetic risk.

Sisters Supporting Sisters: Sisters Supporting Sisters offers a support group for African American breast cancer survivors in Baton Rouge, and provides outreach and education on breast cancer in beauty salons and faith communities. They provide monthly support group meetings that are held on the 1st Saturday of each month.

SurviveDAT Part of the Gulf States Young Breast Cancer Survivor Network, along with SurviveMISS and SurviveAL  (in Mississippi and Alabama, respectively), SurviveDAT provides online support and resources for young breast cancer survivors who often have different needs than older women diagnosed with the disease.

Susan G. Komen For the Cure: Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s national website provides access to comprehensive breast cancer information, interactive educational tools, and more. The breast cancer helpline provides free professional support services to anyone with questions or concerns about breast cancer.

Talk To Someone: Triple Negative Breast Cancer: This interactive online and mobile app connects you with Linda, a Triple Negative Breast Cancer survivor. Linda addresses your questions concerning TNBC and provides other helpful resources to help you make informed treatment decisions.

Tigerlily Foundation: The mission of Tigerlily Foundation is to educate, advocate for, empower and provide hands-on services and support to young women (15-40), before, during and after breast cancer. They seek to educate and empower women of all backgrounds, including those at heightened risk, those facing health disparities, and those with less access to care.

Young Survival Coalition: The Young Survival Coalition (YSC) provides education, peer-support, and networking opportunities for young women diagnosed with breast cancer. They have information for survivors, caregivers, family members, and healthcare providers.
